GUNS ‘N’ ROSÉS
(…… a Tasting with Tenuous links!)
The weather came up 'trumps' and provided a warm and sultry evening for our tasting of Pouilly Fume's and Rosés.
The race card was as follows:
1/ Domaine Villageau, Coteau de Gienois (neighbour of Pouilly sur Loire)
2/ Pouilly Fume, Domaine Serge Dagueneau
3/ Pouilly Fume, Domaine Didier Dagueneau 2005
4/ Cava Brut Rosado, Segura Vuidas
5/ Cava Creu de Lavit Rosado
6/ Cava Rosado, Juve Y Camps
7/ Pinot Grigio Blush, La Delfna, Italy
8/ Crios Rose of Malbec, Susana Balbo, Argentina.
9/ Domaine de Lansac, Aubun Rose, Provence, France
10/ '10X' Rose, Ten Minutes By Tractor Vineyard, Mornington Peninsula, Australia.
11/ Syrah Rose, Zepelin Vineyards, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
12/ Sancerre Rose 2006, Pascal Cotat, Chavignol, France.
A great tasting!
The favourites were rather diverse.......
Many loved the Brut Rosado Cava from Segura Vuidas: very refreshing and full of flavour.
Rupert was 'disgusted' that so many liked the 'Blush' P-G (the young apprentice has so much to learn!)
By far the favourite Rose was Domaine Lansac. This pretty little pale pink rose is just so fresh and appealing.
As for the Dagueneau's..........Serge's was as ever most popular, no one could quite get their head around Didier's (though maybe this was just because of the £37 price ticket!)
