Independence Day : California Wines
Date of tasting: 04/07/2008
Location: Old School House
7pm to 9pm
With the 4th of July falling on a Friday, we thought that we could not pass by the opportunity to put together a tasting from our Californian selection.
As many will already know we are not followers of the 'White Zin' or mass produced "jug" wines that seem to occupy the California sections of the supermarket shelves.
What we are fans of are the true artisan producers of mind blowing Zinfandels, Cabernet's, Pinot's, Chardonnay's and Merlot's that are hand made and express the 'terroir' where they are produced.
Our tasting last year 'opened a few minds' to the fantastic quality that California produces.
One for the enthusiast's!
The wines were as follows;
Sparkling
1/Domaine Ste Michelle, Brut N.V
Chardonnay's
Collage
La Crema (Sonoma County)
Hartford (Sonoma Coast)
