Bricco Roche is the epicenter of Cerreto's finest Barolo production. The winery lies in Castiglione Falletto and is supplied by four grand cru sites Brunate at La Morra, Prapo at Serralunga, Cannubi at Barolo and the vineyard that sits next to the vineyard. The total production for the winery is 40,000 bottles a year.
The Brunate vineyard has a perfect south easterly aspect with a soil composition of 52% clay, 32% silt and 16% sand. The vines here have a average age of at least 30 years old making the fruit high in phenolic complexity.
Fermentation occurs with a floating cap lasting 7 - 10 days in stainless steel. Maceration occurs for one week and the wine is then aged in 300 liter barrels for 30 months.
This wine will age for 15 - 20 years after vintage moving into roses and violets and showing great complexity.
