Cabernet Sauvignon 'Helena Montana', Anakota
The typography of the Montana vineyards is one of steep slopes (30 degrees are regular) and the advantage of cool westerly winds. Numerous hills, knolls and trees maintain a protective barrier around the vineyard preventing damage. The soils are hard, sandy, gravel loam and the roots do not penetrate deep into the ground producing vines that unlike in the opposite Dakota vineyard are squat and stressed.
Bob Parker (wine guru) gives this a prized 92 points!
High concentration in both nose and palate with aromas of dark brooding fruit and a palate of the same with espresso and coffee also apparent. A seriously classy wine for those who love their cabernet.
