Veneto (and possibly northern Italy's) most well known wine, made predominently from the Corvina grape variety. The grapes are dried so that they loose their water content and shrivel. The result is a must that has a higher weight and more viscocity. The wines produced are powerful and live up to their name 'Amarone' or big bitter. Excellent wine and a very, very good price when one considers anything else with the name costs in excess of £30.
