One of my favourite stories concerning Belle Epouque was that Oscar Wild ordered bottles of the 1874 vintage to his prison cell. Regardless though of tall tales this is indeed one of the great champagne houses producing excellent wines.

2002 saw warm weather and ripe fruit creating wines of great expression and yet still elegant. Cotes des Blanc supplied the Chardonnay and Montagne de Reims for Pinot with additional pinot from Ambonnay and Ay.

A super refined and elegant champagne comming into its more classic bready stage of evolution.
